Role: AEM Frontend Developer
Location: Sydney / Melbourne
Contract Duration: 6 Months with high possible extensions
Experience: 5+ Years
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-end Development: Developing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, often with modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, and integrating them with AEM.
- AEM Component Development: Creating and customizing AEM components (reusable modules) to meet specific project requirements.
- Responsive Design: Ensuring the website or application is responsive and works seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.
- Accessibility: Implementing accessibility best practices to ensure the site is usable by people with disabilities.
- Performance Optimization: Optimizing website performance by minimizing load times and ensuring efficient code execution.
- Integration: Integrating front-end components with backend systems and APIs to enable data flow and functionality.
- Collaboration: Working closely with designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver a cohesive user experience.
- Code Quality: Writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices.
- Testing: Performing unit testing, integration testing, and collaborating with QA teams to ensure the quality and reliability of the front-end code.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Keeping abreast of the latest front-end technologies, AEM updates, and industry trends.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong Front-End Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- AEM Experience: Proven experience developing components, templates, and other elements within the AEM environment.
- Responsive Design: Solid understanding of responsive design principles and techniques.
- Accessibility: Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).
- Version Control: Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- AEM Knowledge: Understanding of AEM concepts such as content authoring, workflows, replication, and the JCR/CRX repository.
- Java (Optional): While not always required, some roles may require Java knowledge for more complex AEM development.
