Job Description

Ayan Infotech are looking for a Senior Business Analyst (IFRS17) for a long term contract job opportunity in Sydney.

Title: Senior Business Analyst (IFRS17)
Location: Sydney
Type: Contract (6 months + possible extensions)

Activity Steps of Project:


1. Initial education to IFRS17 requirements including PAS agnostic requirements (documented)
2. Review input files into Mercury and transaction mapping into Mercury.
3. Identify and document products mapped to in Mercury as these will change and be conformed across all PAS' for IFRS17 at a contract part level
4. Liaise with PAS SMEs to understand what is happening at source and validate the step-by-step process of transactions within the PAS and the current accounting treatment
5. Access to Jira / Confluence sprint dashboards to define, update and report on assigned tasks
6. Ensure appropriate stakeholder interactions are held to support the delivery of tasks and completion of deliverables (i.e. PAS SMEs, Statutory Accountants, Actuaries, Data Analysts, Business Analysts)

Required Skills and Experience:


1. Identify and document the accounting impact (debit and credit entries) of the transactions that fed into Mercury (note: that Mercury is not fed with balanced debit and credit transactions - instead it uses one PAS transaction to create the GL debit and credit postings)
2. Liaise with the existing Accounting SME team on the IFRS17 project to understand the accounting constructs required for IFRS17.
3. Document missing data from the PAS>Mercury current interface to support the requirements of Aptitude for IFRS17
4. Compare the current state accounting flow from source systems (PAS) into Mercury against the future state IFRS17 accounting requirements.
5. Access to Jira / Confluence sprint dashboards to define, update and report on assigned tasks
6. Ensure appropriate stakeholder interactions are held to support the delivery of tasks and completion of deliverables (i.e. PAS SMEs, Statutory Accountants, Actuaries, Data Analysts, Business Analysts)
