Key Accountabilities
1. Technical Requirement Elicitation & Elaboration
- Elicit and elaborate technical requirements in collaboration with business SMEs, Architects and Technical Leads, to form integrated, delivery-ready scope.
- Translate business requirements, architectural inputs, and solution designs into detailed functional and non functional requirements aligned to architectural patterns, platform capabilities, and enterprise guardrails.
- Work with E2E Business Analysts to ensure technical requirements fulfil the intent of business requirements and expected benefits.
- Facilitate informed trade-offs between business outcomes and technical feasibility, sustainability, and platform constraints.
- Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, reliability) are defined, implemented, and validated.
2. Backlog Definition & Traceability
- Build a strong delivery backlog elaborating technical requirements into elaborated Jira initiatives, epics and stories that accurately reflect agreed technical scope.
- Ensure backlog items are ready for development with clear scope, acceptance criteria, and dependency visibility.
- Maintain master inventory integrity by maintaining end to end traceability between business requirements, expected benefits, architectural designs, and delivery backlog items.

3. Pre-Delivery Standardisation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of Pre-Delivery artefacts and ways of working.
- Work with technical leaders to document and evolve technical strategies, benchmarks, and standards that support delivery readiness.
- Apply judgement to tailor Pre-Delivery outputs in line with fast-track or deep-dive delivery pathways.
- Champion the DI Transformation Office's two-speed delivery model, facilitating transitions from Pre-Delivery to Delivery.
- Ensure consistent application of agile and scrum practices, driving continuous improvement.
- Support Pre-Delivery leadership in identifying opportunities to improve role interactions, processes, and tooling.
- Identify recurring sources of ambiguity, rework, or delivery friction and contribute insights to improvement initiatives.
ROLE 3: (Melbourne Only)
- Looking for a Melbourne based Snr BA as soon as possible.
- Strong technical BA with digital experience across mobile applications including APIs and integrations.

Additional detailed brief:
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Senior Business Analyst working on large-scale mobile applications within a complex enterprise environment, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience delivering work for native mobile platforms (iOS & Android), including mobile-app journeys, in-app navigation, permissions, notifications and customer engagement features.
- Solid understanding of system integrations and APIs, including defining functional and non-functional requirements, error handling, performance considerations, security constraints and dependency management across multiple backend systems.
- Demonstrated experience working across complex enterprise ecosystems, ideally including policy, claims or customer platforms (e.g. core insurance systems, digital middleware, analytics platforms).
- Ability to translate business, customer and regulatory requirements into clear, well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria and solution designs that development and QA teams can confidently implement.
- Strong experience facilitating discovery workshops, solution walkthroughs and backlog refinement sessions with Product Owners, engineers, architects, designers and testers.
- Proven capability to work closely with UX/UI designers to shape customer journeys and ensure alignment between experience design and technical feasibility.
- Deep working knowledge of Agile ways of working, including story slicing, estimation, sprint planning, stand-ups, showcases and retrospectives, aligned to Ways of Working (WoW).
- Advanced proficiency using Jira and Confluence to manage backlogs, document requirements, track delivery progress and maintain transparent communication.
- Experience supporting end-to-end delivery, including test support, defect triage, UAT coordination, release readiness and business rollout activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured, consultative approach to resolving ambiguous business and technical challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies and change proactively within a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, influence decisions and align diverse groups toward common outcomes.
- Comfortable operating in a squad-based delivery model, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, QAs and architects.
